Drop The Lime

A former choirboy with a childhood obsession with ‘50s rock & roll, Luca Venezia (Drop the Lime) first began releasing his irreverent, genre-mashing breakcore for labels such as Shockout, Broklyn Beats, and Tigerbeat6. Venezia drew on an eclectic grab bag of inspirations--which include everything from doo-wop and Northern soul to dubstep and drum & bass--for his successful New York club night, Trouble & Bass. In 2008 he broke through to pop audiences with his remix of Swedish pop sensation Robyn’s “Who’s That Girl,” prompting an invitation to join her on tour. The year was capped with a successful North American and Australian headline tour, followed by a residency at London’s Fabric. Drop the Lime’s debut album was slated for release in June 2009.
