Billy Crockett

Billy Crockett is a Texas-based singer, songwriter, and producer with numerous albums, collaborations, and production credits to his lengthy career. After studying jazz guitar and audio engineering in college, Crockett eventually landed an A&R job for Brentwood Records, a Christian label based in Nashville. By 1984, he'd released his own album for another label, Dayspring, launching a successful solo career in the CCM world that would span nearly two decades and see him founding his own label, Walking Angel. Along the way, Crockett continued to take session work as a guitarist, honing his chops in country, folk, blues, rock, and pop. 2004 saw him transitioning out of Christian music with Passages, a set of songs for solo classical guitar which he followed up in 2009 with Wishing Sky, his first proper secular album. In 2006, Crockett and his wife Dodie opened the 27-acre Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in the Texas hill country. Blue Rock served as a state-of-the-art destination studio as well as an artist retreat with weekly group songwriting sessions, live events, and an in-house label. As creative director and one of the house producers, Crockett has helmed albums by Cliff Eberhardt, Grace Pettis, Beth Wood, and many others. In 2013, he and a number of other artists contributed to A Very Blue Rock Christmas, a holiday compilation featuring several songs culled from Blue Rock's annual holiday concerts. 2016 saw the release of Rabbit Hole, Crockett's more personal, confessional ninth solo album.
