Informationen zur Playlist

Die Karriere des 1960 in Bern geborenen Stephan Eicher begann mit Post-Punk, mit dem Projekt Grauzone, das Anfang der 80er Jahre mit der Single Eisbär erfolgreich war. Der Schweizer Sänger und Komponist öffnete sich jedoch schnell anderen Horizonten und wandte sich der französischen Sprache zu, die er zusammen mit Englisch für sein erstes Album Les Chansons Bleues wählte. Er begann eine Pop/Rock-Karriere, in der die Sprache Molières nach und nach die Oberhand über die Sprache Shakespeares gewann, insbesondere durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Schriftsteller Philippe Djian, aus der mehrere prägnante Hits hervorgingen, darunter das unverzichtbare Déjeuner en paix (Mittagessen in Frieden). Auch wenn sich seine Musik mehr in Richtung Chanson entwickelt hat, zögert er nicht, seine drei Sprachen zu mischen, wie auf dem 2007 erschienenen Album Eldorado oder in einem Duett mit Sophie Hunger (Spiegelbild), und er erfindet sich mit jedem Album neu, indem er beispielsweise mit der jungen Berner Blaskapelle Traktorkestar auf Hüh! (2019) den von seinen Wurzeln inspirierten Balkan-Rock erkundet. Nun ist er mit seinem 17. Studioalbum Ode zurück. Foto © Annik Wetter
