Die Pumarosa-Mitglieder scheinen genauso wie Savages ziemlich früh in den Kochtopf der achtziger Jahre mit New Wave, ja sogar Post-Punk gefallen zu sein. Da aber Isabel Muñoz-Newsomes Clique in den 2010er Jahren lebt, wird sie von diesem Erbe zwar stark beeinflusst, aber eben nicht nur davon. Aus diesem Jahrzehnt hat Pumarosa diese düster-lyrische Legierung übernommen, um sie in zeitgenössischere Klänge zu tauchen. In Muñoz-Newsomes Charisma gibt es einen Hauch von Siouxsie, Kate Bush und Patti Smith. Einen mächtig dramatischen Rock’n’roll, der The Witch eine so starke Ausstrahlung verleiht, dass Pumarosa zu einer Gruppe mit ziemlich umwerfendem Potential wird. © MD/Qobuz
