Das 2012 in Paris von der Mandolinistin Anna Schivazappa und dem Cembalisten Fabio Antonio Falcone gegründete Ensemble ‚Pizzicar Galante‘ offenbart verborgene Aspekte dieser musikalischen Schätze des italienischen Barock. Inspiriert von einem geheimnisvollen französischen Manuskript aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, das den ersten Satz von Scarlattis Sonate K 89 enthält, dem die Angabe "Sonatina per mandolino e cimbalo" vorausgeht, liefern die Musiker eine frische und originelle Interpretation dieser Werke. Die Musik ist kontrastreich, reich an virtuosen Passagen, Überraschungen und Effekten, aber auch voller Süße und Humor, kombiniert mit einer gewissen meditativen Melancholie. ‚Pizzicar Galante‘ ist auf das italienische Repertoire für Mandoline und Basso Continuo und die vielen Klangfarben dieser Instrumente spezialisiert.
