Darkside is back… with archives. It’s Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington’s amazing side project. Never one to shy away from releasing unanounced records online, Nicolas Jaar has just dropped Psychic Live July 17 2014, made up of tracks taken from their performance at the crazy Belgian festival Dour. One month after the festival, the duo were in Brooklyn and announced that it was “over for now". Six years have gone by and Nicolas Jaar is perhaps feeling nostalgic about Darkside, a project that was lauded by critics and fans alike. Since forming in 2011 and releasing their eponymous EP Darkside, the duo quickly gained a cult following, largely thanks to their amazing remix of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories and Psychic, their first and – for now – only studio album. Psychic Live July 17 2014 brings us six of the eight tracks. It kicks off with Freak, Go Home’s big build, immediately putting you into the crowd and immersing you in Dave Harrington’s trippy guitar and Nicolas Jaar’s machines.
