Im Laufe seines langen Lebens schrieb der römische Priester, Adlige, Dichter und Maler Ermenegildo del Cinque (1700-73) über 100 Sonaten für zwei Celli und 18 Stücke für drei Celli. Obgleich er ein dilettante di musica , war del Cinque der produktivste Komponist von Cellomusik überhaupt, und ist heute - selbst unter Cellisten - nahezu unbekannt. Die vorliegende Aufnahme, die im Theater des Palazzo Altemps in Rom entstand, wo del Cinque häufig auftrat, entreißt einige dieser außergewöhnlich schönen Kompositionen nun endlich dem Vergessen.
Der Architekt dieser Wiederentdeckung ist Ludovico Minasi (u. a. Solocellist von il pomo d'oro), der hier ein Team von außergewöhnlichen Bassinstrumenten anführt, zu dem neben dem Lautenisten Simone Vallerotonda (ein Musiker mit langjährigen Verbindungen zu Arcana) und der Cellistin Cristina Vidoni auch die beiden jüngsten Gewinner des MA Festival-Wettbewerbs in Brügge, Andrea Buccarella und Teodoro Baù, gehören. © Arcana
