Banda Sonora is the hugely popular Spanish pop group Presuntos Implicados' second release after the traumatic departure of singer Soledad Giménez in 2006, and her replacement with new vocalist Lydia Rodríguez. It is also their second cover versions album, after 1999's Versión Original. Banda Sonora celebrates songs featured in popular films, particularly recent romantic comedies such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and My Best Friend's Wedding, but also includes a few classics from the cinema's golden years such as Black Orpheus' "Manha de Carnaval" and Breakfast at Tiffany's' "Moon River," all delivered with a pleasant jazzy and bossa feel. While the entire album is made up of English songs (with the exception of "Manha de Carnaval") translated into Spanish, the three bonus tracks present on a digital edition are songs originally written in Spanish: Jorge Drexler's "Al Otro Lado del Río," Armando Manzanero's "No Sé Tú," and Café Tacuba's "Aviéntame."
