K James

Born into a large family in northern Michigan, James Konwinski (who as a performer only uses his last initial) wrote his first song at age 12 but didn't start learning the guitar until after he was finished with high school. He played in rock bands at college, but after he graduated he moved to California, married, had children, and made a living doing other various jobs. In 1996, while recovering from knee surgery, Konwinski took to writing songs, amassing enough to perform for his daughter's kindergarten class. Receiving positive response, the singer went on to record 1998's A Giggle Can Wiggle Its Way Through a Wall, an album that earned the Parent's Choice Silver Honor Award, followed by 2002's Good Morning Sun Goodnight Moon.
