Breakfast Muff

Glaswegian D.I.Y. punks Breakfast Muff were formed in the city's ever fruitful music scene in 2014. It's a scene that Eilidh McMillan, Simone Wilson, and Cal Donnelly were already familiar with, as the group was made up of members from Rapid Tan, Spinning Coin, Joanna Gruesome, and Hairband. The trash-punk sound they cultivated as a trio was further established via their penchant for switching between instruments both in the middle of their live sets and on record, and also sharing vocal duties. They cut their first record, The Feels, in 2015 over just two days, and later that same year they released a follow-up, the mini-album Rainbow Yawn, which was recorded in three days. The trio also began to gig extensively, touring with artists like Diet Cig and Colleen Green. Remaining faithful to the pattern, Breakfast Muff recorded their next release, Eurgh!, over four days in 2016 at the Big Shed Community Centre in the Highlands. The record was announced via the confrontational yet catchy singles "R U A Feminist" and "Baby Boomers." Both songs were demonstrative of the band's tendency to tackle issues like feminism and sexuality via an abrasive mix of punk stylings, melody, and memorable hooks.
