C'est un joli retour aux sources que nous propose ici la chanteuse Emily Loizeau, re-visitant son propre répertoire dans une version dépouillée telle qu'elle le propose sur scène au public qui a choisi de l'écouter sur scène, juste en duo, elle au piano et son complice depuis plusieurs années déjà, Olivier Koundouno au violoncelle. Sans les arrangements (embellisseurs?) habituels, ce florilège de ses "hits" implique une écoute plus attentive de chansons qui nous rappellent combien cette artiste a su construire, avec le temps, un répertoire personnel. L'album s'ouvre avec "Des pays lointains", morceau de Robert Schumann (Scènes d'enfant opus 15), douce et soyeuse entrée en matière dans l'intimité du duo "Piano Cello Sessions" annoncé par le titre. La voix de Loizeau se pose ensuite sur "Dis-moi que toi que tu ne pleures pas", issu du "Pays sauvage", second opus de l'artiste. Il fournit avec "Mothers…" l'essentiel du disque, Loizeau reprenant juste "A l'autre bout du monde", du premier disque. La voix est toujours aussi claire et pure sans être aseptisée.
