Warning Signs seems an aggressive title for an EP of pop-rap that's quite approachable, but maybe it's just a clue that the slick duo Timeflies could do some serious "damage" to the charts. Don't expect anything cohesive, as this four-song set is a Swiss Army knife sampler of their mastered styles, with the closing "I Choose U" proving they can do the modern vocal trance dance number quite well. That "F" in "SMFWU" is the one Mom warned you about; the track is pop-rap and suburban crass in all its glory, then "I Believe" goes for the sound of fun., as in borrowing the smart indie pop band's style. When "Ride" rewrites Taio Cruz's party-starting hit "Dynamite" and gets away with it, there seems nothing this wonky pop crew can't do, but the EP ends before the "what's the point?" question sets in, so maybe it's just a matter of the effort being right-sized.
