Publié en novembre 2021, Brilliant Adventure zoome sur la période 1992-2001 de David Bowie. Au cœur de ce copieux coffret de plus de 130 pistes figure Toy, un opus inédit enregistré à New York entre juillet et octobre 2000, sur lequel le Thin White Duke revisite ses chansons de ses débuts mod, dans les sixties (lorsqu’il agissait sous le nom de Davy Jones & The Lower Third et Davie Jones & The King Bees), et qu’il habille avec le son de son temps. Des relectures de compositions datant d’avant la gloire que Bowie a conçues essentiellement avec Earl Slick à la guitare, Gail Ann Dorsey à la basse, Mike Garson aux claviers et Sterling Campbell à la batterie. En plus de l’album original, ce Toy Box propose deux disques supplémentaires du même répertoire avec des versions alternatives et des versions acoustiques.
