Sorti en 2007, The Rise of Brutality est le troisième album de Hatebreed, connu pour la fidélité de son engagement au hardcore, et pour la simplicité de son metal sans fioritures.
Le quintette du Connecticut délivre ici en douze titres et trente deux minutes la quintessence de son style. Les fans se retrouveront vite en terrain de connaissance dans les étendards que sont « Tear It Down » (reprenant l' « Outro » de l'album précédent) et « This Is Now ». D'autres refrains mitraillettes attendent l'amateur au coin de « Doomsayer », « Another Day, Another Vendetta » (livré avec un sample de Sick of It All) ou « Live for This », nominé aux Grammy Awards en 2005 et devenu l'un des cheveaux de bataille du groupe sur scène.
The Rise of Brutality montre l'excellente forme d'un groupe qui a trouvé sa formule de compétition dans l'arène du metal.
