Albert Schweitzer (1874-1965), théologien protestant, musicien organiste, philosophe et médécin alsacien, a fondé en 1913 l'hôpital de Lambaréné au Gabon. Pour célébrer le centenaire de cet évènement, le label Rondeau présente "100 ans d'humanisme : Albert Schweizer à Lambaréné", un recueil de pièces de Jean-Sébastien Bach interprétées par Ullrich Böhme à l'orgue Silbermann de l'église Saint-Thomas de Strasbourg. Un bel hommage à celui qui reste connu pour ses travaux sur Bach et ses interprétrétations à l'orgue. En bonus, un enregistrement d'Albert Schweitzer en 1936 à l'eglise Saint-Aurélie de Strasbourg (Adagio de la Toccata BWV564 de Bach).
