Paru fin 2013, IAM compile les titres non retenus par le collectif hip-hop marseillais lors de la parution d'Arts martiens plus tôt dans l'année. L'humeur est ici résolument différente, nettement plus sombre que sur Arts martiens, voyant le groupe porter un regard acéré sur l'état des lieux des quartiers de leur enfance à travers des titres parfois féroces ("Poudre de brique rouge"), souvent désabusés ("Géométrie de l'ennui", "Si j'avais 20 ans") et globalement amers. En outre, IAM permet au groupe de tourner la page de sa signature chez Def Jam France, laissant planer un doute sur son avenir sur une note clairement pessimiste.
