Yves Deruyter
Shaven-headed DJ and producer Yves Deruyter started working the club circuit in his native Belgium during the early '90s. It didn't take him long to start releasing his own tracks, and during the mid-'90s, he put out several tunes -- such as "Rave City" and "Calling Earth" -- which did quite well both in Belgium and Germany. In 1997, however, Deruyter's name became known the world over following the release of his trance single "The Rebel" -- a dance chart winner in many countries. His first full album, aptly titled D-Album was released the following year and carried all of his releases to date. Deruyter then worked on a whole string of projects with such popular artists as John the Dentist, John Digweed, and MIKE (Dirk Dierickx). In 2000, he again made a splash on the German dance charts with the quirky rave tune "Back to Earth."
