Simon Leoza

Simon P. Castonguay (aka Simon Leoza, Tambour) is a Montreal-based neoclassical music composer with a contemplative style that incorporates elements of ambient pop, electronic minimalism, and post-rock. An instinctual creative with no musical training, Castonguay emerged in the early 2010s under the Tambour moniker and found success as both a producer and an artist. Beginning with 2015's Chapitre I, he issued a string of evocative EPs and singles, including Chapitre II (2016) and Constellations (ou comment arrêter le temps) (2019), that garnered millions of online streams and elicited acclaim both at home and abroad. During that time, he took home a pair of SOCAN Foundation Awards for Emerging Screen Composers, as well as a Félix award for his virtual concert at La Maison Symphonique de Montréal. 2021 saw Castonguay unveil the expressive and dreamlike Albatross, his debut full-length effort and first release as Simon Leoza.
