Playa Limbo

Playa Limbo are a Latin pop group from Mexico whose style of music is influenced by pop/rock of the 1980s. Founded in 2003 by Ángel Baillo (bass, background vocals) and Jorge Corrales (keyboards, programming), the group later added María León (lead vocals, guitar) and Servando Yáñez (drums) before recording a demo in 2005 that got them some initial airplay on Mexican pop radio, in particular the song "El Eco de Tu Voz." Often compared to Belanova, a Mexican dance-pop group likewise fronted by a woman, Playa Limbo were subsequently offered a major-label recording contract with Sony BMG and proceeded to release their full-length debut album, Canciones de Hotel (2007). The album spawned a series of hits, most notably "10 Para las 10," "El Eco de Tu Voz," and "El Tiempo de Ti," and was re-released in 2008 with bonus material.
