Kerry Politzer
Pianist Kerry Politzer started training at New England Conservatory, where she used her talents at the keys to focus on jazz. After graduating in 1993 and putting in her time with several jazz artists, she broke out on her own and started releasing solo albums. She won third place in the 2000 Songwriters Association of America Competition and received honorable mention in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition the same year. Her first record, 2001's Yearning, was a Brazilian jazz effort that offered short and concise tracks that invited comparisons to Eliane Elias. The following year, Watercolor broadened the sound to include other aspects of jazz and swing.
