Matt Terry

Singer Matt Terry rose to fame as the winner of the 13th series of The X Factor in the U.K. He grew up in the London borough of Bromley, and attended the D&B Academy of Performing Arts in Kent. Before he could utilize the skills he learned there to his full potential, Terry became a waiter. Following the breakup of a relationship he quit his job, and made an application to the talent show. His performance of Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" earned him a place in the show's Boot Camp. He went on to win the competition, and followed that achievement with a number three hit U.K. single. His debut song, "When Christmas Comes Around," was written by Ed Sheeran, and made him only the second X Factor contestant to release an original winner's single. After these successes he went on to sign to RCA Records.
