Rascal Flatts released their first greatest-hits album eight years after their first hit single, "Prayin' for Daylight," and it took them another 12 to deliver their second compilation, Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts: The Greatest Hits. By that point, the country-pop trio had amassed so many hits, "Prayin' for Daylight" didn't make the cut on Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts, nor did many other of the early singles that filled out 2008's Greatest Hits, Vol. 1. While losing some of these sunny hits is a bit of a pain, there's no denying that Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts: The Greatest Hits offers a thorough, evenhanded overview of the trio's prolonged peak, serving up the number one singles "These Days," "Bless the Broken Road," "Fast Cars and Freedom," "What Hurts the Most," "My Wish," "Stand," "Take Me There," "Why Wait," and "Banjo," along with the smash non-LP cover of Tom Cochrane's "Life Is a Highway."
