Universal's single-disc compilation Gentle on My Mind: The Best of Glen Campbell provides a very nice overview of the singer/guitarist's prolific career. With over 60 albums and a host of major country and pop hits in the '60s and '70s, Campbell's musical legacy is an extensive one. This collection manages to cover his career high points like "Wichita Lineman," "Southern Nights," and, of course, the classic road ballad "Gentle on My Mind." The focus is largely on his popular '70s output, but does stretch far enough to include the late-career gem "Angel Dream" from his 2008 release Meet Glen Campbell. Die-hard fans will likely already own most of these songs, but for the more casual listener, this 21-song set is a great place to start.
