While it's marketed as an EP, Further Down the Spiral is essentially the single for "Hurt," which is included here in its live version, the same version that's used in the video. However, what makes the disc worth investigating is the remixes. Like Fixed before it, Further Down the Spiral deconstructs and reassembles the tracks from the platinum The Downward Spiral, reconfiguring the music in ways that are frequently more interesting and challenging than the original versions.
