Yelo Molo

Quebec rock band from Sainte-Julienne (Canada), formed in 1997, originally featuring François Charles Turcotte, Patrick Fréchette, Sébastien Lamer, Stéphane Bédard, Stéphane Yelle and Yanick Boivin. The group was a finalist in the 1998 Empire des futures stars competition. In the fall of 1999, Yelo Molo released their first album, Écoute! The song " Sabrina " tops the charts for 3 weeks, while " Du tout " and " Gros zéro " reach the top 20 on Quebec radio. The following year sees the release of Diversion, a cover of themes from TV series such as Goldorak, Les Mystérieuses Cités d'Or and Le Petit Castor . Spring 2002 saw the release of the album Snooze , featuring the hit song Malaise . It earned the band four nominations at the ADISQ gala that same year. Yelo Molo ended the 2000s with two more albums, Show Business in 2004 and Emmène-Moi Quek Part in 2009. After a break in the early 2010s, as well as changes to the band's membership, the album L'Amour Alpha was released in September 2018, with the track " Atypique " referring to singer Stéphane Yelle's Asperger's condition, diagnosed in 2014. In 2022, the band releases a French-language album of new compositions, entitled Dubaï, an English-language album called Ska All Over, a compilation of their greatest hits, and an EP, featuring four holiday songs. In August of the same year, the band announces its separation in 2023.
