The Winner

South Korean boy band WINNER makes dance-oriented, rap- and R&B-influenced pop music. The group debuted to massive success, topping both the Gaon and Billboard World albums charts with “2014 S/S”. They have remained chart favorites, hitting number one in Korea with EPs like 2016's Exit: E and 2019's We. The band has also scored number one hits like "Empty," "REALLY REALLY" and "EVERYDAY" the latter of which served as the title track to their sophomore full-length, 2018's Everyd4y. That same year, they issued their Top Five Japanese album “OUR TWENTY FOUR”. WINNER again reached the Top Ten with 2020's “Remember” and returned in 2022 with the EP “HOLIDAY”. Formed in 2013 after winning the YG Entertainment-produced reality television competition Who Is Next: WIN, WINNER originally featured the talents of vocalist/dancers Lee Seunghoon (aka Hoony), former Superstar K2 competitor Kang Seung-yoon (aka Seungyoon or Yoon), Song Minho (aka Mino), Kim Jin-woo (aka Jinwoo), and Nam Tae-hyun (aka Taehyun). Upon taking first place on Who Is Next: WIN, the group appeared on their own ten-episode reality program, WINNER TV. In 2014, at the end of WINNER TV's run, WINNER released their full-length debut album, "2014 S/S", featuring the singles "Empty" and "Color Ring." It topped the Gaon album chart and hit number one on Billboard's Top World Albums chart. They again reached the top of the South Korean album charts with the 2016 EP Exit: E. That same year, Taehyun left the band, choosing instead to focus on his solo work and launch his group South Club. Following a brief hiatus, WINNER moved forward as a four-piece and returned in 2018 with their sophomore full-length album, Everyd4y, which debuted at number one in South Korea. Also in 2018, they released their first full-length Japanese album, "Our Twenty Four", featuring the singles "Love Me Love Me" and "Island." The following year, they were back at the top of the charts with both the We and Cross EPs. In 2020, they delivered their third full-length, "Remember", which featured several Mino-penned singles, including "Hold" and the title track. The set reached number three on the Gaon Album chart. The EP "HOLIDAY" arrived in July 2022.
