Eruca Sativa
Argentine alternative rock band hailing from Córdoba, formed in 2007 by Luisina Bertoldi, Brenda Martin and Gabriel Pedernera. Inspired in equal measure by Argentine rock, grunge, funk, and blues, the band released their first album, La Carne, in 2008 and started to attract fans with their fiery shows and intense social media activity. Their reputation continued to grow with Es (2010) and Blanco (2011). At this stage, Eruca Sativa had finally managed to graduate from pubs to big-name festivals and prestigious theaters, as documented in the acoustic live collection Huellas Digitales (2014). After a supporting gig for Foo Fighters in January 2015, the band went on hiatus as both Bertoldi and Martin were pregnant. The trio returned in late 2016 with Barro y Fauna, recorded in Los Angeles for Sony Music. Clearly designed to foster their international appeal, the album was duly rewarded with a couple of Latin Grammy nominations.
