Anly

Born on January 20th, 1997 in the village of Ie, Okinawa, Anly is a Japanese pop singer-songwriter whose sweetly melodic songs range from ballads and upbeat anthems to covers of modern pop and rock classics by the likes of Ed Sheeran and Led Zeppelin. Harbouring a desire to pursue music from a young age, she began learning the guitar at six and started penning lyrics in her second year of junior high school. Anly stepped out with her first independently released single, "Sixteen," in January 2015 and spent the year honing her voice at various live performances, which ultimately led to a signing with Sony Music Records in 2015. She dropped her debut major-label single "Taiyō ni Warae" (太陽に笑え) that November and a string of other singles followed in its wake, including 2017's "Kara no Kokoro" (カラノココロ), which was used as the final opening theme to the Naruto: Shippuden anime series. Her debut studio album, Anly One, landed in April 2017, and the follow-up, Loop, in 2018. Her third studio album Sweet Cruisin', was issued in 2020, and featured the 2019 digital single "Taking My Time." In 2022, Anly went to number 36 on Japan's Oricon Albums Chart with her fourth studio LP, Quarter.
