Edwin Luna y La Trakalosa de Monterrey

Banda la Trakalosa de Monterrey is a brass and percussion ensemble from the city of Monterrey, Mexico. The group is part of the Mexican banda tradition, playing a variety of song styles including ballads, rancheras and corridos. Band leader and singer Edwin Luna formed the group in 2010 with ex-members of La Real Banda Chilera. Originally called Banda la Escandalosa, the group signed with Remex Music but almost disbanded in 2011 when half of the members left to form a new ensemble. Luna hired replacement musicians from across Mexico and renamed the group Banda la Trakalosa, releasing their debut album 'Doble Vida' in 2012 with the opening track 'San Lunes' reaching the top of the radio charts in Northern Mexico.

Their second album 'De Monterrey a Sinaloa' followed in 2013, containing the singles 'Borracho de Amor' and 'Tatuado Hasta los Huesos'. The success of these releases led to the band touring Mexico and the United States. In 2014, the band released third album 'La Banda Grande de la Sultana del Norte', containing the single 'Mi Padrino el Diablo'. The track was featured in the 2016 animated movie 'Ice Age: Collision Course'. Fourth studio album 'La Revancha' arrived in 2015 along with a change of band name to Edwin Luna y la Trakalosa de Monterrey. Following changes of line-up, the band released several albums each year including 'Machaca, Cabrito y Band' (2016), '10+10' (2017) and 'Mi Otro You' (2017). In 2019 they released the album 'Me Hiciste un Borracho'.
