Cette fois encore, un album de Body Count débute par une interview fictive, dans laquelle le supposé journaliste dénie le droit à Ice-T et son gang de pratiquer le rock metal, la conversation est close quand il se prend deux balles dans le buffet.
Ce troisième effort, le dernier digne de ce nom, du combo trash d’Ice-T s’affiche sous les doubles couleurs des gangs majeurs de Los Angeles, les rouges (Bloods) et les bleus (Crisps), unis contre l’oppresseur gouvernemental (Ice-T avait été très actif dans l’organisation de la trêve entre Crisps et Bloods après les émeutes consécutives au procès des tabasseurs de Rodney King).
Avec sa dose de sexe (« Strippers », « I Used To Love Her »), de haine (« Truth Or Death »), de violence (à peu près tout le reste), Body Count, encore au complet, poursuit son combat dans un enfer électrique de riffs turgescents, gorgés d’électricité saturée.
Avec la pratique, les capacités de chanteur d’Ice-T se sont améliorées, et il est ici plus à l’aise que jamais dans ce genre, même si l’effet de surprise est passé.
