=LOVE

=LOVE is a Japanese J-pop idol group formed in 2017 by singer, producer, and actress Rino Sashihara, better known as a former member of AKB48 and HKT48. Composed entirely of voice actors from the Yoyogi Animation Academy, the twelve-piece made their live debut at the Tokyo Idol Festival, followed by the release of a self-titled track in September 2017. The single reached number 8 on the Oricon Singles Chart and number 14 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 as =LOVE became a force to be reckoned with in the Japanese idol market. The following year, the group featured in the musical Kemono Friends and held their first couple of international performances in Taiwan. In 2019, =LOVE scored their first chart-topping hit with the single "Zurui yo Zurui ne," which was also certified gold by the RIAJ. Subsequently, the group repeated the feat with the track "Seishun "Subliminal" in 2020 and issued their highly anticipated studio debut "Zenbu, Naisho" in May 2021. The album went to number 1 on the Oricon Albums Chart and its lead single "Weekend Citron" hit number 2 on the Japanese Singles Chart. After presenting its second sister group, ≒JOY, in 2022, =LOVE scored their third number 1 song in Japan with "Be Selfish," released later that year. 2023 saw the release of the singles "Natsumatope" and "Last Note Shika Shiranai," both of which soared to the top of the Oricon Singles Chart.
