Babe Rainbow
Cameron Reed, aka Babe Rainbow, is a Vancouver, British Columbia-based producer who combines left-field rap production and experimental electronic music with dreamy and often unsettling results. His early EPs such as 2010's Shaved fell somewhere in between dubstep and witch house, while later releases like 2014's Falling Apart were more minimalist and airy.
In 2010 and 2011, he released two EPs for the Warp label: Shaved and Endless Path. During the same time, he also established himself as a remix producer for the likes of Midnight Juggernauts, You Say Party, and Porcelain Raft. After he joined Tom Krell as a member of the How to Dress Well live band, he released Falling Apart in 2014 through Kinky Beggar. The album was lighter in tone compared to his Warp EPs. The minimalist Music for 1 Piano, 2 Pianos, & More Pianos appeared on 1080p the same year. Babe Rainbow's song "Don't Tell Me I'm Wrong" was included on the Ghostly Swim 2 compilation at the end of 2014. Two tracks, "Now Is Not the Time" and "(Can't) Fly Away," appeared in 2016.
