Yıldız Usmonova
Yulduz Usmonova - born on December 12, 1963, in Margilan, Uzbek SSR, USSR - is a singer, songwriter, and actress best known for her work in the Uzbekistan film industry and her solo releases. After studying music at the Pedagogical Institute in Margilan, Yulduz Usmonova was discovered by Gavharxonim Rahimova while performing at a Women’s Day show. Rahimova introduced her to professors the Uzbekistan State Conservatory, where she did vocal studies. Yulduz Usmonova made her singing debut in 1990, performing the song “Temir xotin” in the film Iron Woman. The following year, she made her screen debut in the film Temir erkak (1991). After several more films as both actress and singer, she released her debut album, Alma Alma, in 1993. Over the course of her career – which has included two dozen albums – she became a star in Turkey and Central Asia. She has recorded songs in several languages including Uyghur, Turkish, Tatar, Russian, Kazakh, Tajik, and Arabic. Her most popular hits include “Seni Severdim” (featuring Yasar), “Yalan” (featuring Levent Yüksel), and “Beni Kovma Kalbinden”, all three taken from her hit album Dünya. Other albums in her catalog include Ayol (2005), Inadim (2008), and Men seni sevaman (2019).
