Omo

The eccentric U.K. art pop duo Omo consist of Berit Immig (also a member of the eccentric U.K. art pop band the Chap) and conceptual/experimental visual artist David Muth. Having previously played together in the group Karamasov (along with the Chap's Johannes Von Weizsäcker), Immig and Muth began their collaboration in 2004, utilizing "small instruments" to construct the curious electronic/acoustic pieces which they describe as "domestic pop for domestic occasions" -- genially simple but decidedly strange songs which recall elements of retro lounge music, library music, Krautrock, and abstract electronica, among other styles, with a wryly deadpan lyrical focus on everyday objects and occurrences. Following a handful of compilation appearances and live shows (their first performance occurring at the Berlin Aquarium over the duration of a lunch break), their debut record -- cheekily titled The White Album -- was released by Lo Alternative Frequencies in 2009, alongside a split 7" single with the Chap.
