Myles Smith

A singer and songwriter whose sweetly sad tunes are warm and emotionally open, Myles Smith blends the gentle passion of his vocals with music that incorporates elements of contemporary folk, indie pop, and a dash of Americana. After finding an audience through social media, he has developed an international following for his acoustic-based songs that won him a major-label contract, as tunes like "Solo" and "My Home" became major hits. Smith was born and raised in Luton, an ethnically diverse community in Bedfordshire, England. He grew up listening to a broad range of music, including pop-punk, singer/songwriters, and hip-hop. As his interest in music grew, he bought a guitar and learned to play. He began playing covers at parties and open-mike nights, with his repertoire focusing on songwriters such as Ed Sheeran, Marcus Mumford, and Chris Martin. The next step was to produce homemade videos of his performances, which he shared on social media. In 2020, Smith issued an eight-song album called Scars, but his big break came in 2022 when he posted a stripped-down cover of the Neighbourhood's hit "Sweater Weather." The clip went viral, and before long Smith had landed a contract with RCA. Having established himself as a vocalist, he next focused on his songwriting. Songs like "Memories (I Don't Have)," co-written with Adam Argyle, and "River," penned in collaboration with Peter Fenn and Jesse Fink, were streaming hits, and "Solo" and "My Home" (both written by Smith and Fenn) became major successes, each with streaming figures well into eight figures. In 2024, Smith issued the EP Betting on Us, which included the title track along with four of his previous successes.
