Meow Meow

Known for their dreamy mix of '60s-style psychedelia and '70s-influenced power pop, California's Meow Meow first emerged with their 2004 debut Snow Gas Bones. Meow Meow initially came together as a side-project in 1998 between Pink Noise Test guitarist Kirk Hellie and Brian Jones Was Murdered guitarist Chris O'Brien. However, following the demise of their individual bands, the duo decided to pursue the group full-time, employing drummer Norm Block, bassist Michael Orendy, and engineer/co-producer Eddie Ashworth to complete their full-length debut. With a sound steeped in Beatles-esque studio trickery, 1990s alt rock, and hallucinogenic dream pop, Meow Meow released Snow Gas Bones for Devil In The Woods in spring 2004. An EP, Besides, arrived in 2006.
