Ensemble de la Société de musique contemporaine du Québec

Born in the Abitibi-Temiscamingue region of Quebec, Canadian folk singer, trumpeter and poet Raôul Duguay (13 February 1939) is a beacon of countercultural music who began learning the trumpet at 15 and published his first two poetry anthologies in the mid-late 1960s. Around the same time, he formed the experimental jazz group L'Infonie with Walter Boudreau and began honing his own voice under the moniker Raôul Luôar Yaugud Duguay. After L'Infonie split up in 1973, he made the switch to art-rock with a trilogy of solo albums: debut Alllô Tôulmônd (1975), L'Envol (1976), and M (1977). He released eight other albums between 1976 and 2010 and in 2000 guested on the album In C by Michel-Georges Brégent and Walter Boudreau where he sang on the title track. His song "La bittt à Tibi" was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008 and has continued to publish works of poetry.
