Cold Hart

Cold Hart is the moniker of Filipino-American producer, songwriter, and vocalist Jerick Quilisadio, co-founder of the influential emo-rap collective GothBoiClique. Like other members of the crew, Quilisadio combines atmospheric, trap-influenced beats and hazy guitar riffs influenced by emo, darkwave, and pop-punk with lyrics about depression, drugs, and heartbreak. Quilisadio is one of the most prolific members of the group, both as a producer or guest artist on releases by associates like Wicca Phase Springs Eternal and Lil Peep and as a solo artist. Since the early 2010s, he's released dozens of instrumental beat tapes under his production alias Jayyeah and countless albums, mixtapes, EPs, and singles as Cold Hart. In 2021, he signed with punk mainstay Epitaph Records and released the full-length Every Day Is a Day. Quilisadio was born in Long Beach, California in 1994. His primary influences included rappers Chief Keef and Lil B as well as alternative and punk artists such as the Cure, Morrissey, Nick Cave, and Rancid. He began producing music as TrillKvlt during the early 2010s, then started releasing instrumental albums as Jayyeah in 2012, navigating a sound somewhere in between cloud rap, witch house, and trap. He co-founded GothBoiClique with Wicca Phase Springs Eternal and Horse Head the same year; the name originated from the title of a beat Quilisadio produced and sent to Wicca Phase. Quilisadio was briefly involved in the TeamSESH collective, and all of GBC's early members were part of the short-lived Thraxxhouse. Aside from his production work and beat tapes as Jayyeah, Quilisadio began using the name Cold Hart for his solo and feature work, releasing a seemingly endless stream of digital albums, mixtapes, and tracks. Cold Hart began receiving more attention for albums like 2017's Downer and 2019's more pop-punk-influenced Good Morning Cruel World (with YAWNS). This lead to a deal with Epitaph Records, which released Every Day Is a Day (primarily produced by YAWNS) in 2021.
