Brood Ma

Brood Ma is James B. Stringer, a London-based artist obsessed with virtual reality, cyberpunk, and rave culture. His chaotic, splintered music embraces psy-trance, industrial, ghetto house, and other highly intense forms of dance music, resulting in fast-paced, ever-shifting sonic collages. Stringer is the co-founder of Quantum Natives, a collective also including artists such as Yearning Kru and DJWWWW, whose website is an interactive Google Maps-like interface linking to videos, downloads, and other media. Brood Ma debuted in 2012 with Fission, released as a limited cassette by U.K. label Mantile. After launching Quantum Natives in 2013, the label released Brood Ma's Populous as a free download in 2014, shortly followed by remix collection Repopulous. Dubstep label Hemlock Recordings issued Populous on vinyl in 2015, and Brood Ma signed to Tri Angle for the release of his most accomplished work to date, 2016's Daze.
