Brain Damage

Brain Damage Sound System, or Brain Damage, have been spreading their electro dub since 1999. The duo, consisting of a sound engineer and a bassist, made their debut in 2002 with Always Greener (On the Other Side), a veritable manifesto ofFrench-style electro dub. 2004'sAshes to Ashes - Dub to Dub rewrites the Jamaican tradition with two sung tracks, each in five versions. Spoken Dub Manifesto brought dub poetry up to date in 2006. Turning each album into a concept, Brain Damage released the highly adventurous Short Cuts in 2008. The band reaches its zenith in 2010 with Burning Before Sunset, where the Brain Damage style is immediately identifiable. High Damage in 2012 is a collaboration with High Tone, who have already initiated Highvisators with Improvisators Dub and Zentone with Zenzile. Brain Damage teamed up with Vibronics for Empire Soldiers (2013) and Empire Soldiers Live (2015).
