Boston Manor

Hailing from the seaside resort of Blackpool in the North West of England, Boston Manor are a five-piece punk, post-hardcore, and grunge outfit known for their pop-laden, emo-tinged vocal harmonies and bright, overdriven guitar work akin to the style of household pop-punk acts such as blink-182 and Bowling for Soup. They issued their full-length debut, Be Nothing, in 2016, and continued to hone their diverse yet heavy style on subsequent efforts like Welcome to the Neighbourhood (2018), Glue (2020), and Datura (2022). Formed in 2013, Boston Manor quickly gained recognition for their D.I.Y. approach to recording, touring, promoting, and making a name for themselves on the local and national gig circuit. The band put out several releases in the following years, including the independently released Here/Now EP in 2013 and a split 7" single with Manchester-based hardcore act Throwing Stuff later that year. They issued their second EP, Driftwood, through Failure by Design Records in 2014. Boston Manor went on to sign with California-based punk label Pure Noise Records in 2015 and released the Saudade EP later that year before getting to work on their debut full-length effort. The album, Be Nothing, was issued through Pure Noise during the fall of 2016. Following the 2017 stand-alone single "Drowned in Gold," the group returned in 2018 with their sophomore LP, Welcome to the Neighbourhood, which was their first outing to appear on the U.K. albums chart. Two years later, the band released their third long-player, the alt-rock-leaning Glue. Boston Manor inked a deal with SharpTone ahead of the release of the 2021 EP Desperate Times, Desperate Pleasures, and in 2022 they released their fourth full-length effort, Datura. An assured and inward-looking set, the LP is the first installment of a two-part conceptual work.
