Roy Wang
Wang Yuan (November 8, 2000), aka Roy Wang, is a Chinese singer-songwriter, TV personality, and philanthropist. Hailing from Chongqing, he made his debut as a member of the Chinese idol group TFBoys in 2013. Three years later, Roy Wang debuted as a solo artist with the 2016 single “Cause of You,” which accumulated millions of plays on streaming platforms and earned him an award at the Fresh Asia Charts in the category of Top 10 Golden Songs. In October of that year, he dropped a second single titled “The Best Time,” dedicated to his alma mater Chongqing Nankai Middle School. After releasing the singles “Seventeen,” “Sleep,” and “Pride” in 2017, Roy Wang issued his first digital album Song for You in 2018 and donated all the proceeds to the Yuan Foundation, his own charity organization. In 2019, he landed his first big acting role in the independent film So Long, My Son and released the EP Yuan. At the turn of the decade, Roy Wang returned with 2020’s “The 400 Blows” and then unveiled the single “Sister,” which broke into the Chinese Top 200 in 2021.
