The Tommy Olivencia Orchestra's first full-length album is basically a rough, beginning effort by the ensemble, still a few years away from the powerful, highly popular salsa orchestra that it would become. Despite the raw state of both recording and group performance, there are good moments, like the earliest version of "Trucutu" (composed by 23-year-old Chamaco Ramirez) and "Este Guaguanco" (by Henry Debs).
