Ti Sours

Created in 1989 in Saint-Denis on Reunion Island, the Ti Sours group includes Tikok Vellaye (leader), Zoel Lamoly, Tatyana Ehrlich, Gilinn Vellaye, Misou François and Natacha Torillard. Some of them have already established themselves in the Reunionese music scene, such as Tikok Vellaye, who has collaborated with maloya musician Danyèl Waro, so it's natural that the group should turn to the island's traditional music. With a desire to promote their Saint-Denis neighborhood, La Source, Ti Sours made a name for themselves with their first album, Ti Pyier, released in 1994. Buoyed by the single "Kafrine", a real hit on the island, this first project reveals the aesthetic essence of the group, which evolves between the historic styles of sega and maloya. With Lé Tan Po Di, the group's second album, Ti Sours became an increasingly important part of the Creole musical heritage, with a new hit: "Nou Na Asé". Renowned over the years as a defender of Reunionese cultural tradition, Ti Sours has distinguished itself with two further albums, Sa Tout Pou Mwin (2003) and Detak (2006), as well as numerous concert appearances, up to and including the prestigious La Cigale stage in Paris.
