Nix
Born on September 19, 1978 in Dakar (Senegal), Nix, whose real name is Nicolas Omar Diop, is a Senegalese rapper. He began his career in 1993 as a member of the group Kantiolis. He released his first solo album, Black Crystal , in February 2003, and a second version, Black Crystal: Summer Edition, six months later. This won the prize for best solo album at the third edition of the Hip Hop Awards in Senegal. The following year, he won the Best Music Video award for his song " Rap rek ". Nix presents his second opus in 2010, entitled Rimes de Vie . That same year, he was interviewed on the MTV music channel in the United States, and collaborated with singer Wyclef Jean. He also won the trophy for Best Music Video with his song " Zik des gentlemen " in 2010. He presented his first concert outside his native continent in September 2011 in Paris. The following year, he released a mix-tape entitled Tha NixTape Vol.1 #RoadTrip. This was followed in January 2016 by a 7-track EP called Excuse My Wolof, written in the Wolof language, and then the album Art de Vivre in September. The latter enabled him to win Best Lyricist at the Galsen Hip Hop Awards in December 2017. In 2018, he launches the opus EMW II - The Ñuulest. In December 2020, he presents the Virgo EP , which he produced in collaboration with artists Coco Cissoko, Fyffey and Obree.
