Heike Makatsch

Heike Makatsch is a German actor with many major credits who launched her singing career in 1996 with a cover of Tammy Wynette's 'Stand By Your Man', which she sings in Detlev Buck's German comedy feature 'Männerpension' (1996). It went to number eleven on the German Singles Chart. She has starred in several other German movies and also films such as 'Resident Evil' (2002), 'Love Actually' (2003) and 'The Book Thief' (2013).

In 1997, she co-starred with British actor Daniel Craig in the drama 'Obsession' (1997) and began a relationship with the future James Bond star that lasted several years. She sings three songs on the film's soundtrack album including 'This Girl Was Made for Loving' with Bela B. Her version of '50 Ways to Leave Your Lover' appears in her 1999 drama 'Die Häupter meiner Lieben'. She sings several country songs on the soundtrack album of her 2005 picture 'Almost Heaven'.

In 2009, she starred as German singer-actress Hildegard Knef in a biopic titled 'Hilde' and sings several of the star's notable songs on the soundtrack album. She also sings with co-star Max Martin Schröder on the soundtrack album of her 2009 film 'Die schönsten Kinderlieder'. She also co-stars in Aron Lehmann's 2018 romantic comedy 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the World'.
