Ghix
A native of Benin, Gislain Adjalla turned to music at the age of 15, first joining a band, M16, but without releasing any official tracks. Gradually familiarized with the demands of composition, he decided to go solo under the pseudonym Ghix, with which he experimented with the possibilities of the hip-hop aesthetic. After several confidential attempts, which nevertheless led to him being spotted by the Cameroonian structure Hope Music Group, he officially launched himself in the eyes of the general public with a first single in 2017: "I'm Troubled". Oscillating between R'n'B and rapped flow, the production, which is closer to "urban" music and afropop, found its audience and propelled the Beninese singer. Accompanied by his label, a second track appears ("Nobody" (2017)) before the mixtape Point G, unveiled in 2018. The seventeen tracks are generally in the Afropop style, with featurings that offer the Beninese more richness (Sean Lewis, Blacky or sima) and the influence of new styles (reggae on "Look At Me Now"). Established in the music industry and spotted by the general public, Ghix continued his ascent with "Agba" (2019) followed by "Garrick Bradly ", released in 2022.
