Frederic Joron

Born on September 8, 1966 in Saint-Pierre, Reunion Island, Frédéric Joron grew up alongside Jules Joron and Marie Anise. In 1984, Jules, Bernard and Frédéric Joron founded Ousanousava, a major sega group in Réunion's musical heritage. A decade later, in 1995, and after numerous compositions and concerts as far afield as the Zénith in Paris in 1994, Frédéric Joron decided to leave the group and devote himself to his solo career. Acknowledged for his role in the production of Ousanousava's best-known tracks, the singer turned his talents to songwriting, presenting Générasion l'an de'mil in 2001. A key figure in Reunion's music scene at the end of the twentieth/beginning of the twenty-first century, Frédéric Joron satisfied his public with a number of successful releases, including Gran mèr zamal (2003), La reine z'ananas (2005) and Kel lékol (2008), and was awarded the Tiembo trophy by SACEM in 2012. Still with us in 2022, Frédéric Joron celebrates 40 years in the music business with a look back at some of his most famous songs, written both as part of a group and on his own.
