Di Xiao
Pianist Di Xiao has performed around the world, ever since winning an award as "Most Outstanding Young Musician of Guangdong Province" at 16. Her education has spanned the globe also; she's studied at the Odessa Conservatoire, the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing, and the Birmingham Conservatoire in England. Her repertoire is broad, ranging from Mozart to Ravel and Albéniz, and to contemporary composers, but her primary interests are in the Classical period and Chinese folk music. Like others of her generation, she hopes to be an ambassador for music of her native country as well as for her instrument. Di's first solo album, Di Xiao Presents, was released in 2008. Her sophomore effort, Journey, came in 2011
