Akatsuki SN

Bringing together young Senegalese Naruto enthusiasts in 2019 (the group's name is a direct reference to the manga), Akatsuki SN is made up of Sory L'officier, Talla BTB, LMN Xél Niar and Xhalil. Born in Dakar, the four rappers chose to enter the music world in 2020, and unveiled the single "Weredi" in October. The group's drill instrumentation and flowing rhythms appeal not only to Senegalese fans, but also to international audiences, including French rappers Booba and Black M, who share the group's line-up. Akatsuki SN took advantage of this sudden breakthrough in the music industry to present their debut album, P.A. Universal, released in 2021 by Neegurap and Universal Music Africa. The sixteen tracks follow the hip-hop trends of the early 2020s, presenting a "Drill galsen" while opening up to the sounds of Afro-pop. In the midst of riots in Senegal in 2021, the four rappers make the voice of youth heard and convey their views on the country's social and political situation. Their story instantly wins over the public and propels them forward, notably Talla BTB, who presents a first solo project in 2023, ADN.
